Description
Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (22.5mm, 5.51 g, 6h). Uncertain mint. Radiate and draped bust right / Providentia standing left, holding globe and cornucopia; S|P//–. RIC V 502. Attractive dark brown patina over toned silvering, minor die clogs, a couple of tiny pits, some careful smoothing. EF. A lovely example with great detail struck on a hefty flan.
